DUP Deputy Leader Nigel Dodds has said the time has now come for Ministers to be appointed and decisions made for the people of Northern Ireland. His comments follow conformation from the Department of Communities that they are unwilling to put a funding package in place for Age Sector Platform, without Ministerial oversight.

Nigel Dodds said, “Sinn Fein has denied the people of Northern Ireland Devolved Government since January 2017. They alone are putting their narrow political interests ahead of the needs of the people of Northern Ireland.

“The announcement by the Department for Communities that they are unwilling to put a financial package in place to support Age Sector Platform, a charity that provides advocacy and support for our older people, without Ministerial oversight is the latest organisation to be collateral damage of Sinn Fein’s actions.

“Our schools, our roads and our hospitals are all suffering without Ministers in place.

“This week we will make it clear to the Prime Minister that the lack of decision making is severely impacting upon the people of Northern Ireland. It’s time for the drift to end and for decisions to be made.”
